Ok, so this post has been a LONG time coming. I started tearing down the wallpaper at the beginning of October, and I’ve had the painting mostly done for a couple of months now. I just had to finish the yellow… and let’s face it, I’m a lazy britches. ANYWAY. Let me introduce you to an old foe of mine, our bathroom.
You know, I had forgotten how much I hated that wallpaper until I found these pictures again. Oh it was awful. So I tore it down. (That was fun!) As soon as I saw this post on Made, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
Shaun helped me tape off the design, and I used craft paint from Michaels for each ziggy. The gray was actually some paint that came with the house, I just added some black and blue to it to make it a little darker. We painted a wicker shelf with the same light blue and hung it above the toilet. (I love that shelf by the way, it works out perfectly right there.) My brother gave me the poof ball garland for Christmas, and my mother-in-law gave us the perfectly matching towels.
I really love how it turned out. That room makes me happy, way more than a bathroom should. Now that it’s finished I’m totally feeling motivated to finished up the two other rooms I started painting three months ago. (The kitchen and our bedroom.) So you can expect to see the photos of that in oh… a year. Hahaha!
PS. I learned tonight that it is really hard to take photos in a bathroom.
