{The Collectorials} Tins

I just found these photos that I took a couple months ago and I decided it was about time I shared another collection on here. The last one I shared was my coin collection, and here is my tin collection!

I’ve been collecting candy tins for a few years now. It all started when my friend Jessy gave me three Mario mushroom tins for Christmas. Then of course I had to buy the star one, and the Nintendo controller, and the Zelda shield! (I may have gotten a little crazy.) I will totally justify buying the most random thing if it comes in a cute tin. Like an emergency inflatable brain, or bacon gumballs. (Which are, by the way, AWFUL!)

If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be the bacon gumballs tin. But isn’t the maple flavored toothpicks one adorable? . I want to buy a new Mario star tin, mine is looking pretty beat up. (Thanks baby Juniper.) I also have a few lunch boxes that I guess count as being a part of this collection. A Fruity Oaty Bars one my sister-in-law gave me that is super awesome, and two Star Wars ones that my mother sent along in our Christmas package.

Right now I just keep them in a basket on the bookshelf, out of Juniper’s reach. (This is her favorite collection for obvious reasons.) But I’ve been trying to come up with a nice way to display them. I may end up hanging a few small shelves in the living room for these and various other tiny treasures.

There are a handful of tins that I would like to buy (Wasabi gumballs, Ghost Busters, and of course I need to get the pink and green Keroppi ones) but the one I want the MOST is this Random Crap Mini Stash Box from Urban Outfitters. I love that thing! (The Top Secret Mini Stash Box is pretty dang awesome as well.) Oh! And these Portal Cookie Cutters come in a tin! Then I could make awesome cookies AND add to my silly collection.

  1. I'm surprised that you don't keep your tins in one of the lunch boxes!
Of course, it wouldn't work to display them in there because
in order to display the lunch box, it has to be closed.
That would kinda ruin the display of the tins. Hmmm.
