Space Silhouette

I’ve decided that I am in love with masking fluid. I tend to be a very messy artist, so I loved not having to stress about keeping the edges clean. You can see how messy it got in my last post about watercolors. It sure doesn’t smell nice, but it dries quickly and peels off easily. It’s pretty fun to peel as well. Like a sunburn only not yucky!

I knew immediately that I wanted to do a space scene for Flynn’s silhouette, and I love how it turned out. You can’t really see in this photograph, but some of the smaller stars are purple glitter and they twinkle so nicely. I learned a lot about mixing darker colors with this experiment, and now I want to paint another space scene! Of course, I’ll have to come up with a different theme for Juniper’s silhouette. I’ve got a few ideas. I’m thinking of doing some sort of floral design.

I would love to offer lots of different versions of these paintings. What are some themes you would like to see? I’m also going to offer them in a smaller size.
