About a month or so ago, I was putting Juniper to bed and she decided that she was going to read her own bedtime story. So she picked up this tiny piece of folded paper, and began to read. A few sentences in, I HAD to stop her and go grab a pen to write it all down! I had meant to share this a while back, but I lost the notebook and just found it this morning in a kitchen drawer. This girl is seriously silly, I only wish I could have caught the enthusiasm on video.
Once upon a time, there was a lion and a bear and an elephant and a piggy and some caterpillars and then there was there was MONSTERS. Like 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 of them! And there was dinosaurs. Like 10 of them. And then there was fairies. One of them. And then there was 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10. And then there was stars and stars and stars really way up there! There was a crayon and cakes. Like 1 2 3 cakes right over here. And THEN there was puppies and there was lots of glasses! And there was monsters like dolls. And THEN there was eyes. That would be perfect. And then there was PILLOWS and they were soft. And then there was really fairies again! They came back! And then I fell down and there was eyes and they got mouths! And then there was strawberries to pick. Over I do, over I do, over I do, over I do, over I do. THE END!
This is super cuuuuute. I wish i would have written or videotaped more of my daughters ramblings. I honestly didn't understand how awesome the things she said were because i heard them all the time. Now i think back to her age and the amount of knowledge she had in that tiny head and how she manage her vocab, ugh… it would have been great to look back at more of it. I'm still trying to learn that lesson and not take for granted the milestones she's having now.
ps i thought your post on your beliefs was a very sweet post. Coming from a completely different perspective, i was really happy to see that you are doing what you feel is right and allowing others the same respect. That's something I wish others would embrace!
Your comment just totally made my day I used to video Juniper all the time, but it's been a while since we've gotten out the camcorder! With the two kids now it is so busy, it's easy to forget. I need to fix that this weekend. It's one things to write down what she says, but LISTENING to her talk is just the funniest.
