365 Days Outside > 165-169

With Juniper’s foot injury earlier this week, we have been taking things easy around here. She is doing a lot better, but she’s definitely ready for her foot to stop hurting. Yesterday when I got home from work, she was dancing and twirling around in circles without much of a limp. It won’t be long before we are back to enjoying the beach and the park. So here are this week’s adventures.

Day 165
It rained for a bit while we were eating dinner tonight (hence the adorable food face), so we ran out onto the deck to enjoy it. It wasn’t much of a rain, just a light sprinkling. It hasn’t rained here in SO long, we really need a good downpour. My poor herbs are completely dead, as are most plants around here.

Day 166
After work, we went to the beach to enjoy the last bit of daylight and play with our new beach toys. I figure now that we know about that awesome beach close to home, we better buy some beach toys. It was a beautiful evening. The sun was low in the sky, there was a nice breeze, and it was actually less than 100° outside.

Day 167
Juniper and I had a picnic tea party with Tinkerbell on the deck today after Flynn went to bed. I found her that picnic basket at a thrift store in CT. She loves picnics, and we always have to “clink” our cups like in Despicable Me. (I love that movie.)

Day 168
We went fort-camping in Flynn’s room before bedtime tonight. Juniper ran and grabbed her toy camera so we could all take pictures of each other. Flynn of course would rather eat his, to which fact Juniper yelled “No Flynn! On yours eyes not yours mouth!”

Day 169
It rained today while I was at work. (It cooled off nicely for my bike ride home!) Dad snapped some pictures for me of the kids out enjoying the showers. The forecast has thunder storms almost every day next week, but it’s only a 20% chance of rain… We REALLY need some rain!!
