It’s crazy to think that we’ve been going outside for over 100 days now. I love looking back at these pictures and remembering all of the fun times. I really think Juniper has been outside more times this year than she has her entire life! At first I felt like I was wasting my time with this whole project. I thought, Juniper is way too young for this to have any sort of impact on her. And she always fought it when I tried to get her out the door. There were definitely days when I said, just go blow some bubbles on the deck and let me snap a couple of pictures. I felt like this was just one of those ‘for the blog’ projects. I never intended my blog to be filled with ‘for the blog’ type projects, I really want this to be a place that is true to our lives. So that bothered me a little.
BUT. We’ve come a long way, and I can honestly say at this point that this project has become a huge part of our lives. We all love going outside and exploring the world. Juniper would rather go for a walk than watch cartoons. If you ask her if she wants to go outside, she screams woohoo and grabs her shoes. Or goes barefoot. (But there must always be underwear. No underwear = no outside. Juniper is not a fan of this rule.)
If there is one thing I want the kids to get out of this project, it is that this world is an amazing place and we are so blessed to have it. I certainly have gained a better appreciation for it.
I’ll be back later today with this week’s outside adventures.
