Playing With Clay

I got a sudden urge to play with clay the other day so I headed to Michaels and Hobby Lobby (with trusty coupons in hand) to pick up a few supplies. My plan is to design several different fairy wall plaques, make silicone molds, and experiment with resin casting. I really want to start selling my sculptures again, but I need to find a way to make it financially worth it. These sculptures take a long time! So I figured resin casting might be the way to go. (Just what I need, another crafty obsession…)

I think she turned out lovely, especially since I can’t remember the last time I busted out my sculpting tools. (I think it was back when I was still working! Has it really been that long??) She is going to have a couple of nail holes in her back for hanging. What do you think?

She sure was creepy as I was working on her… Ha! I had to keep saying “just keep working on it, it will get better!” She even survived a few encounters with a curious toddler’s prodding fingers. Juniper sure loves to “help”.

  1. I love her! She does look quite creepy in the middle stages…but she's beautiful now! I hope you guys had an awesome thanksgiving. This is the first year in a few that we are both with family instead of each other – weird!! I miss you!!

  2. Wow! How did I miss her?
    She’s about AMAZING!
Yeah, she was kinda creepy for a bit there.
I guess there’s hope for ME yet then!
